If you've eaten a wasted trip, you know why we built this differently.
You drive to a storage lot. Forty minutes at the counter, then hunting for the car. Or the shop turned you away, or the owner never showed. You did the work, made the drive — and billed nothing for it.
We rebuilt our fee schedule in 2026 around what the job actually takes. These are line items we pay, not costs you absorb:
- Return trips when the vehicle isn't accessible
- Extra time on site when a shop or storage lot keeps you waiting
- Owner no-shows
- Tow yard and storage lot time
- Late cancellations
Total loss inspections pay more than a standard appraisal, because the CCC form takes longer and demands more of you. Heavy equipment and commercial pay accordingly.
What you get
Your fee, before you accept
Every assignment shows what it pays. No surprises, no negotiating after the fact.
Assignments on your phone
Shoot and upload photos straight from the field. No laptop in the truck, no paperwork run.
A page that tracks what you're owed
See what's pending and what's been paid. You'll never have to call and ask where your money is.
Text and email alerts
Work comes to you. You're not refreshing a portal hoping something appears.
Desk work from home
Photo desk estimates you can write between field days — no drive time, no mileage.
You work for who pays the claim
Never for a repair shop. Our clients are California counties, carriers, TPAs and risk pools.
How it works
- Register. Send your resume and tell us your territory. Takes two minutes.
- We talk. Michael calls you personally — not a recruiter, not a form letter. You'll get the full fee schedule and we'll talk about work in your area.
- Get set up. We add you to QE Dispatch, our assignment system. You'll have a login the same day.
- Take the assignments you want. Work comes to your phone with the fee shown up front. Accept what fits your schedule.
Who belongs in the network
Experienced independent auto damage appraisers across California. Heavy equipment, commercial fleet, motorhome and RV experience is a strong plus — that work pays more and there's steady demand for it.
- Verifiable auto damage appraisal experience
- You operate as an independent contractor and carry your own tools, transportation and estimating software
- Your own general liability and E&O coverage
- You set your own hours and decide which assignments you take
California does not license auto damage appraisers — what matters to us is that you write a clean, accurate estimate and document the file properly.
This is independent contract work on a 1099 basis, not employment. You're paid per assignment, not by the hour, and you're free to work with other firms.
